The use of nanomaterials in the food industry represents an innovative convergence between nanotechnology and food science, aimed at enhancing the safety, quality, and nutritional value of food products. Nanomaterials, which possess unique properties at the nanoscale (1 to 100 nanometers), are utilized in various applications related to food, such as processing, packaging, and food safety. The significance of employing nanomaterials in the food industry lies in their potential to revolutionize food preservation and safety methods. The application of nanomaterials in this sector not only presents opportunities for improving food quality and safety but also raises important issues regarding regulations and safety that need to be carefully managed. This article investigates the impact of nanomaterials on the safety, quality, and nutritional value of food products. It also examines the advantages of nanomaterials and addresses topics that could reduce food spoilage and waste, while highlighting the prospects of nanotechnology in the food industry and its effects on enhancing food quality and safety. This paper employs an analytical-descriptive method, gathering and analyzing topics from reputable scientific articles and websites. Furthermore, it reviews the regulations and safety of nanomaterials in food, comparing various results to identify trends and challenges. It has been established that nanotechnology is of particular importance in the food industry and can help prevent numerous human challenges through its application.
