Evalution of Sunflower Cultivation, Seed Utilization in Environmental Comatibility of Nimruz Province

Despite the challenging agricultural landscape of Nimruz Province, certain plants have demonstrated remarkable adaptability to its unique environmental conditions. Among these resilient species, sunflower stands out for its ability to thrive throughout the province. Despite a dearth of comprehensive research on sunflower cultivation and productivity in this region, this study seeks to bridge that gap by investigating the compatibility of sunflowers with Nimruz Province's environmental factors. Utilizing a blend of field research and data analysis with MS Excel and SPSS software, the study delves into various aspects of sunflower cultivation, including plant characteristics, agro-technical requirements, harvesting techniques, and processing methods. Through the analysis of 130 questionnaires distributed among local farmers, the research sheds light on their awareness and practices regarding sunflower cultivation. Despite the absence of prior focused research on sunflower cultivation in Nimruz, the findings underscore the plant's significant potential in the region. Farmers recognize its importance, predominantly growing it for personal use or as a windbreak, with a burgeoning interest in commercial cultivation evident among a small percentage. The discussion highlights the pivotal role of agriculture, particularly sunflower cultivation, in addressing environmental challenges such as prolonged wind seasons and soil erosion prevalent in Nimruz Province. Advocating for further research and investment in sunflower cultivation, the study concludes by emphasizing its suitability as a sustainable solution for the province's agricultural development, offering prospects for both environmental and economic resilience.
