A Study of the Main Character’s Redemption in The Kite Runner

چکیده

As the Middle East Story, The Kite Runner is one of the most widely-read novels; the novel is published in 2003 by Afghan-American novelist, Khalid Hosseini. The novel narrates the story of Amir, the main character, a young boy from Wazir Akbar Khan part of Kabul; the novel is set against a backdrop tumultuous event. It has so many different themes e.g. friendship, relationship, atonement, and so the like. Furthermore, the novel mostly handles the theme of colonialism. As to data collection, textual analysis is used to find out how Amir attempted to free himself from sins. As to Amir, Khalid Hosseini attempted to portray the main character’s journey of redemption within the novel. As to Amir’s past, he tries to atone his past.  Therefore, some of the characters try to redeem themselves from the sins done earlier within the novel. As to redemption from the sins of the past, the novel is set to pay compensation for what has been wrong. Amir feels guilty and starts a quest to repair his past or desires to correct his mistakes.
