Assessment of the Impacts of Climate Change on Agriculture and Plants in Afghanistan

This study examines the impacts of climate change on agriculture and plants in Farah Province, Afghanistan. The main objective is to assess the extent to which increased temperatures and decreased rainfall affect agricultural production and quality. A descriptive-analytical research method was used for this study. Data was collected through questionnaires and interviews with farmers and experts. For data analysis, various statistical tests such as t-test, multiple regression, and F-test were used. The results show that the effects of climate change have a negative impact on agriculture in Farah Province. In particular, the results of the t-test show that t-value = 4.56 and p-value = 0.000, indicating that the impact of climate change on agricultural products is negative. Similarly, the F-test results show that the effects of climate change also negatively affect the quality of agricultural products, with F-value = 12.45 and p-value = 0.001. In addition, new technologies such as water-saving systems (B coefficient = 0.567) and biotechnology (p-value = 0.000) reduce the negative effects of climate change. This study shows that the negative impacts of climate change can be reduced through new agricultural technologies, and the sustainability of the agricultural sector can be increased. Therefore, policymakers and farmers should pay serious attention to the use of new technologies.
