Abstract

This study aimed to assess students’ satisfaction with online education at Balkh University. Understanding the level of student satisfaction with this type of education has become increasingly important. Despite universities’ investments in online education, it remains unclear to what extent students are satisfied with its quality and effectiveness, and which factors influence their satisfaction. The objective of this research is to examine students’ satisfaction with online education at Balkh University and to identify the factors affecting it. The main research question is whether students are satisfied with the online services of Balkh University and what factors influence this satisfaction. The main hypothesis of the study is that students are satisfied with the online services of Balkh University, while the sub-hypotheses include the influence of technological aspects, instructors, and the quality of education on students’ satisfaction. This applied and descriptive study collected data using questionnaires distributed both in person and online via Google Form. The data were analyzed using Excel and SPSS, and the statistical population included third- and fourth-year students, the majority of whom were pursuing a bachelor’s degree. The results indicated that students’ satisfaction with online education ranged from moderate to high, although challenges such as low internet speed and limited access in certain provinces negatively affected learning. Approximately 80% of students believed that online education is not equivalent to in-person education. These findings suggest that online education requires careful planning, supervision, and management to be effective and efficient, and they can contribute to improving the quality of online education and developing future educational programs at universities.
